So without further ado, let me introduce to you my all-new original meme called…

New Title Tuesday!

What is New Title Tuesday?

New Title Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted here at The Bibliosmile where readers discuss (read: fangirl over) the most exciting book releases hitting the shelves each week.

What Are the Goals of New Title Tuesday?

1. Help Authors Promote Their New Books

Covid-19 has impacted life worldwide, and the publishing industry is no exception.

Don’t believe me?

Just check out Publishers Weekly’s massive ongoing list of canceled book events, rescheduled publication dates, and bookstores that have turned to crowdfunding to stay alive.

What’s more:

For authors who published during the pandemic, things have been especially devastating.

Aimee Liu, the author of the Glorious Boy, explains it this way:

“The publishing industry only gives you one bite of the apple. They immediately write you off if you don’t sell big on your first book. They don’t give you a second chance, and they don’t handicap you for bringing a book out in the middle of a pandemic.”

So what does all this have to do with New Title Tuesday?

Let me tell you:

My BIGGEST goal with the New Title Tuesday meme is to help offset current publishing blues and give a much-needed boost to struggling authors by hyping up new releases as much as we can every week!

2. Help You Stay Up-to-Date on All the Latest Book Releases

According to Forbes, “There are somewhere between 600,000 and 1,000,000 books published every year in the US alone.”

Now, I know that’s what you’re thinking:

“A million new books every year?! How am I supposed to keep up with that?”

Frankly, trying to stay in-the-know about all the latest book releases is enough to give anybody a massive headache.

I hate headaches, don’t you?

That’s one of the main reasons I started New Title Tuesday.

I wanted to save you some time, energy, and (hopefully) a headache.

Here’s the big idea:

Every Tuesday, I’ll post a list of my most highly anticipated book releases which are (finally!) hitting the shelves that week.

Now you’ll never be out of the loop again!

And one more thing:

To get an INSANELY detailed list of every upcoming release, join my newsletter and you’ll gain exclusive access to The Ultimate 2022 YA Book Release Masterlist!

With over 325+ (and counting) YA books listed, you can say goodbye to being behind on the news.

3. Spotlight Under-Hyped Releases

Let’s face it: not all books are created equal.

Some books have big marketing budgets with huge publicity slates.

Think interviews with the Today show, fancy launch parties, and cross-country road trip book tours.

Other books?

Not so much.

Despite authors’ best efforts, many amazing books are quietly released into the world without the explosive fanfare they deserve.

Stories we might adore with our whole bookish souls slip through the cracks and are never heard of again.

The reason?

We just don’t know they exist.

The good news is this: New Title Tuesday aims to raise awareness about underrated and under-hyped new releases so you won’t ever miss an opportunity to fall in love with a book soulmate.

4. Strengthen the Book Community

It’s no secret that Book Twitter can be cutthroat.

A real-life Hunger Games.

But on average, that’s not the experience most book bloggers have.

Olivia Páez, a long-time contributor at Book Riot, describes it like this:

“The online book community has provided me with solace and a world of friendships that I never knew could be made through social media.”

Why do I share this?

Because that’s exactly the sort of positive energy I want to spread around with my new New Title Tuesday meme!

Let’s make new friends and uplift each other as we all geek out over our most highly anticipated book birthdays together!
